Here we are in February already, and I was more than ready to leave 2018 in the rear view mirror. Ever the optimist, I looked forward to 2019 with joyous anticipation. Perhaps when the Traverse City New Year’s Eve Cherry Ball Drop was canceled due to inclement weather, I should have considered that it might have been an indication of less than perfect things to come.
During the first week and a half of our brand new year, my electric toothbrush went berserk and knocked a corner off a front tooth and jarred an old filling loose; our furnace had problems that required professional attention; my granddaughter flew back to California and immediately limped her way through a torrential rainstorm to the nearest Urgent Care. She went home wearing a brace from her hip to her ankle and a pair of crutches, not preferred accessories for someone who teaches dance.
