Little Old Women - How I got here

These columns are written and sent in a week before they are printed. Yesterday our country’s capitol building was filled with terrorists.  My heart is heavy, but the purpose of this column is to provide you with a small portion of entertainment to help you distance yourself from the worries of your day. So, in that spirit, this is the after-the-holidays column I had prepared. 

The tree is still up and the carpet still harbors some glitter, but the holidays are definitely over for another year. It was a very different celebration but did have its high points. One of those was when my son Scott’s little family gathered on our front porch to chat with us through the screen door and leave their presents for us, and pick up ours from them. That was when we had two very special moments. 

Little Eleanor (1-and-a-half) was busy checking out our birdfeeders and our dog Ivy.
