In the very long ago, 85 years at least, I loved to ride on the slippery back seat of my grandpa’s shiny black Model T Ford. It was always an exciting adventure. When grandpa wanted to stop he would yell, “Whoa, #%&@ it. WHOA!” 

In recent weeks, with Christmas fast approaching, I was still lingering at Thanksgiving. Still working on the list of things I’m grateful for. I am truly thankful for things like the reader who read my piece about the farmer mouse who skinnied under my bedroom door to plant sunflower seeds in my African violet plant. That good woman sat right down to send me an email about the night a tree frog landed smack on her sleeping face. She has a home downstate, and a cottage in this area, and both places have been invaded by frogs. Where else are you going to hear things like that?
