Lancers back in finals, Alba’s Bootz also qualifies

GAYLORD — Make that three straight years the Ellsworth boys and girls cross country teams have collectively qualified for the Division 4 finals.

The Lancers’ squads earned their trip to the state meet after finishing as regional runners-up to East Jordan for the second straight season at Saturday’s race at Michaywe Pines Golf Course.

The area also had one individual state qualifier as Alba’s Andrew Bootz came in the top 15.
