Lady Elks starting strong on volleyball court
KINGSLEY — The Elk Rapids volleyball team is off to a fast start this season, finishing second in the Kingsley Invitational on Saturday after opening with a first place trophy at the Joburg Invitational on Thursday, Aug. 24.
At Kingsley, the Elks swept Benzie Central (25-10, 25-14), Central Lake (25-16, 25-1) and Kalkaska (25-16, 25-2), rebounded from a game one loss to defeat Grand Traverse Academy (23-25, 25-20, 15-4) and split with Houghton Lake (22-25, 25-19) to reach the championship match against Kingsley, falling 12-25, 9-25.
