KCRC finally able to bid out summer projects, battle revenue cuts

KALKASKA — The Kalkaska County Road Commission is having to play catch-up with its 2020 project lists, while working to overcome both scheduling delays and potential revenue cuts resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Usually, in advance of a summer full of road improvement and construction projects, KCRC manager John Rogers said bids for those projects are let out and awarded to contractors in late March and April each year.

However, due to mandated restrictions issued to counter the spread of COVID-19, that just wasn’t possible.
