Gaylord man sentenced to prison for killing downstate deer hunter
BELLAIRE — A Gaylord man will spend up to 17 years in prison for killing Justin Edward Beutel, of Sanford, on the opening day of the firearms deer season in November of 2018.
An emotional David Michael Barber, 46, of Gaylord, was sentenced Monday morning in Antrim County's 13th Circuit Court by Judge Thomas Power on one felony count of involuntary manslaughter, one count of committing a felony while in possession of a firearm, and one count of misdemeanor trespass after a jury trial conviction in December.
