Forest Area snaps Bellaire’s SVC win streak

FIFE LAKE — Forest Area snapped Bellaire’s 36-game Ski Valley Conference winning streak on Thursday, Jan. 4, beating the Eagles 50-49.

The Warriors were the last team to defeat the Eagles in the conference, late in the 2015 season.

In a game that went back and forth all night, it fittingly came down to a final shot, but Bellaire couldn’t get its last look to fall.

Chase Ingersoll had 18 points to lead the Warriors (4-2, 2-2 SVC), draining 6 of 9 threes on the night. Garrett Bybee-Mullins added 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in the win. Jordan Cochran, Ethan Durfee and Hunter Perkins all made solid contributions off the bench that helped spark the big victory.
