Ellsworth boys, girls first at Mud Run
CHARLEVOIX — The Ellsworth boys and girls cross country teams edged East Jordan for first place in the small school division of Saturday’s Charlevoix Classic Mud Run.
The Lancers’ boys had a combined time of 1:34:38, just ahead of East Jordan’s time of 1:34:51. On the girls side, Ellsworth had a combined time of 1:58:39, while East Jordan ran a 1:59:57.
The meet was not only broken up by large and small schools, but they also held two races, a 9th-10th grade race and an 11th-12th grade race. Times were combined from those to determine a team winner.
Mancelona’s boys were fourth out of 19 teams in the small school division, while the girls were 10th out of 17. Kalkaska’s boys and girls were both sixth in the large school division. Central Lake’s girls were 17th in the small school division and 19th and the boys took 19th, while Alba’s boys were 18th.
