Elks shut out Kalkaska for big football win
ELK RAPIDS — In the much-awaited annual gridiron meeting between the Elk Rapids and Kalkaska and Blazers this season, the Elks stunned the visiting Blazers by coming away with a 17-0 win.
The Elks lost the last to meeting to the Blazers, but are much improved this season, coming into the game at 2-1. Kalkaska showed up undefeated at 3-0, averaging 40 points in the three wins, while surrendering just 30 points total. The teams traded punts for the first series, but the Blazers began the ball on their second possession after a 22-yard run by quarterback Jaxon Disbrow. An Elk sack by Logan Thompson ended the Blazer drive, forcing another punt.
