Eagles looking Bellaire-like with fourth straight win

BELLAIRE — Bellaire is looking more and more like Bellaire at this point of the boys basketball season.

After having struggles here and there earlier in the year, the Eagles appear to have taken a big step forward entering the second half of the season.

The six-time reigning Ski Valley champs won their fourth straight game on Friday, staying within two games of league leading Johannesburg-Lewiston, with a 41-29 victory against Inland Lakes.

“We’re becoming a pretty good defensive team,” said Bellaire coach Paul Koepke. “That’s where we’re setting our standards at, making it tough on teams. I thought we’ve had some good practices. Kids are buying into stuff.”
