Eagles get tough battle from Warriors in girls hoops district opener
MANCELONA — Bellaire’s 18-point win over Forest Area right before Christmas break did not provide much foresight into what would happen when the two teams met again on Monday in a Division 4 girls basketball district opener.
Bellaire had to scrap, claw and fight to come away with a 46-38 win against the feisty Warriors this time around.
“They played us very hard,” said Bellaire coach Brad Fischer. “I told the girls, ‘We’ve got our hands full.’ They’ve been playing some good basketball lately. They did a good job of making us out of sorts.
