Council tables proposed policy over credit card usage

The Kalkaska Village Council was prepared to vote on a new, more stringent policy regarding credit card usage by village employees at its regular meeting Monday, Feb. 26. Standerfer said she, as treasurer, should oversee credit card usage, not the village manager as proposed in the revamped policy. Also, she added that operating under a “policy” wasn’t valid under state law, which requires the higher standards of an approved ordinance.
