Commissioners hear emergency center update, equalization report during virtual meeting
BELLAIRE — During a lengthy five and half hour meeting held virtually on Thursday, April 23, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners approved ballot language for several millage renewal proposals, and heard both an annual report from the Equalization office and an update on its newly created Emergency Operations Center.
Created in late March after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's state of emergency declaration, the goal and focus of Antrim County's new Emergency Operations Center is to assist the county with COVID-19 preparedness and prevention, Emergency Management Director Leslie Meyers said.
Meyers went on to introduce the center's staff and noted that county Deputy Administrator Jeremy Scott has taken the position of public information officer for the center.
