Commissioners approve Stepping Up Initiative, Industrial Park purchase option

BELLAIRE - During a lengthy meeting last Thursday, Dec. 5, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners took care of a number of business matters, which included approval of a new LED lighting system, approving increases in employee wages for 2020 and a resolution agreeing to reduce the number of mentally ill inmates in the county jail, and, by a narrow margin, a proposal from a sustainable energy company giving the company an option to purchase the land known as the Antrim County Industrial Park. 

The Park, composed of 53 acres of undeveloped land on Darraugh Road in Mancelona Township that has been in county hands for a number of years, was recently appraised by area realtor William "Pug" Sliger as having a current value of $76,000.
