Commissioners approve permit hike, parity increases
BELLAIRE – During a short monthly meeting last week, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners debated the merits of creating a Human Resources department and security for the county building, and approved wage parity increases and soil erosion permit fees for 2018.
The decision to increase the cost of soil erosion permit fees, required for any construction planned within 500 feet of a body of water in Antrim County requiring soil removal, came after a committee recommendation noting that Antrim’s soil permit fees are lower than most other counties in northern Michigan.
