Christmas in Kalkaska to feature Santa, lighted parade and more
KALKASKA – Santa Claus is coming not once, but twice to Christmas in Kalkaska. The jolly man in the red suit will make an appearance at the annual festival first on Friday, Dec. 1 after the Lighted Christmas Parade, and again at the Holiday Craft Show on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The schedule for this year’s event begins with a Holiday Light Tour on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 4:30 p.m., originating at the Civic Center (1905 Fairgrounds Drive).
Those who wish to participate by decorating their homes or storefronts for the Exterior Decorating Contest must register by Nov. 29 and will have a chance to win four $25 gift cards to any businesses in Kalkaska County.
Winners of the Exterior Decorating Contest will be announced the following day, Dec. 1, at the Welcoming and Tree Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony will begin around 6:45 p.m. at Railroad Square immediately preceding the Lighted Parade, which will take over Main Street at 7 p.m.
