Up to the Challenge: Campaign seeks to unite area businesses to assist victims of recent hurricanes

REGION – Seeing the devastation in Texas and beyond caused by Hurricane Harvey earlier this month really struck a chord with Dee Owens. That chord grew louder with last weekend’s impact of Hurricane Irma across the state of Florida.

“First there was Harvey – which was terrible – and then came Irma,” Owens said, “And I really felt like we should be doing something to help those people. Even if it’s in a small way by comparison, I felt that we could help.”

Thus was born what is being called “HI Relief,” or Harvey/Irma Relief.
