Central Lake opens district with victory over Ellsworth

BOYNE FALLS — There have been many opportunities for the Central Lake volleyball team to unravel during a tough season.

But the Trojans have remained a tight-knit group and they’re hoping that can carry them into a successful postseason.

Central Lake looked like a team that is jelling on Monday as it defeated Ellsworth 3-0 in a Division 4 district opener, controlling the opening set for a 25-13 win, then playing even better in the next two sets, winning 25-8 and 25-9.
