Car show to feature tractors, service vehicles in addition to classic cars
CENTRAL LAKE – The Central Lake Chamber of Commerce's Annual Downtown Central Lake, scheduled for Saturday, June 9, is promising to offer something for everyone.
"We'll have special categories for trucks, motorcycles and tractors, which are new to the show this year," said event organizer Melissa Zelenak. "And once again, due to their popularity last year, we'll have a ‘service vehicle’ category, with vehicles from the Antrim County Road Commission, Sheriff's Office, and other public service and safety agencies in the area."
Also back, after a hiatus of several years, will be the Friday night cruise, when all types of vehicles will show off their shine in a cruise around the area beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, June 8 in front of Sage Park in downtown Central Lake, where area musician Dominic Fortuna will perform from 7-8 p.m.
The popular summer event, which officially kicks off the summer season in the village of Central Lake, will begin bright and early at 8 a.m. Saturday with registration for those who haven’t pre-registered, and will continue through the day with food fun, and music by local musician Kenny Thompson.
