CENTRAL LAKE – A full slate of activities awaits those planning to attend the Central Lake Chamber of Commerce's annual Window Night on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The annual Christmas celebration begins at 3 p.m., when the Central Lake Lioness Club opens its annual Craft and Bake Sale at the Masonic Lodge while the Central Lake Lions begin KidSight eye screenings for children ages six months and older at no charge in the Main Street office of Marie Leathers Lakeside Properties Realty. Eye screenings will take place until 7 p.m., while the Lioness Club will close their Christmas event at 7:30 p.m.

At 4 p.m., the Central Lake Chamber will offer a children’s gingerbread house decorating class with kids' crafts in the cabin near the Blue Pelican Inn, storyteller Jim Ribby will be wandering downtown streets with tales from Charles Dickens, and the very popular live Christmas reindeer will arrive for children to pet and enjoy until 6 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m. the community’s Christmas tree will be lit by the Village's DPW crew, and at 5:45 p.m. the big star of the evening – Santa – will arrive via fire truck at the Blue Pelican Inn, where the Jolly Old Elf and Mrs. Claus will talk and pose with children for free photos offered by Fairytale Photography until 8 p.m. Children visiting Santa will also be given Christmas "goody" bags and books by Jenny Shooks of the CLEO Foundation.

Ongoing all evening will be the Chamber's Window Night Business Lighting contest, collection of mittens for the Mitten Tree outside of the Central Lake Pharmacy, gathering of donated toys at Bachmann's Store, along with a food drive for the Central Lake Food Pantry and pet food drive at Adam's Madams.
