Boettcher and Bargy named Chair, Vice-Chair of Antrim BOC
REGION — The Antrim County Board of Commissioners elected Ed Boettcher as the board Chair for the third consecutive year at the Thursday, Jan. 2 organizational meeting.
Boettcher is in his 10th year as county commissioner in District 4. Karen Bargy, the commissioner from District 3 with 10 years on the board, was elected to return as the Vice-Chair.
“It was nice to have a vote of confidence from the majority of my board,” said Boettcher. “It is a challenging job. Our Board is very thoughtful, very good people, but we definitely don’t always agree. I appreciate the fact they think I’ve helped the Board reach consensus and helped implement the consensus. Some of the Board members don’t like what the consensus is sometimes, but that’s not my job. My job as Chairman is to make sure everybody is heard and to determine what the majority is.”
