BOC approves of study for collaboration between Kaliseum, KMHC
KALKASKA — The Kaliseum Recreation Complex and Kalkaska Memorial Health Center could soon forge a new partnership.
The Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners at their Feb. 19 meeting unanimously approved, 6-0, to allow officials with the county-owned recreational facility to “work collaboratively” with the county and other community organization to develop a business plan and “to investigate the Kaliseum as a multigenerational center to support the health and wellness of the community.”
Kaliseum director John Starr said the proposal was first discussed at a meeting of the Kaliseum Steering Committee, which includes a KMHC representative.
