BOC approves resolution in support of governor’s impeachment
KALKASKA — Despite mixed emotions and opinions, the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners voted 4-2 to approve a resolution recommending state lawmakers move forward with the impeachment of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
The split vote occurred after more than 90 minutes of debate at a special meeting on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Kalkaska County Governmental Center and broadcast online via Zoom.
The resolution was supported by commissioners Patty Cox, John West, David Comai and Kohn Fisher, while Craig Crambell and James Sweet cast dissenting votes. District No. 2 Commissioner Leigh Ngirarsaol was absent.
