KALKASKA — The Grayling football team didn’t even give Kalkaska a chance to pick its poison.

The Vikings took advantage of the ability to pass and run in Friday’s season opener against the Blazers, mounting scoring drives through the air and on the ground in a 43-0 victory.

Grayling’s dynamic offense was led by quarterback Hunter Ventline, who rushed for 115 yards and passed for 162 yards and two touchdowns. David Millikin found the end zone four times, including three rushing, and accounted for 138 total yards with 93 of those coming on runs.

Millkin was a one-man wrecking crew early in the game, scoring all of his touchdowns in the first half as Grayling built a 36-0 halftime lead. His scoring runs of 65 and 11 yards gave the Vikings a 14-0 first-quarter lead and he added a 9-yard touchdown run to make it 21-0 in the first minute of the second quarter.
