Bay Reps bring home championship trophy

BIG RAPIDS — The Bay Reps remained undefeated this season, winning the Big Rapids Tournament held at the R.L. Ewigleben Sports Complex in Big Rapids, home of the Ferris Bulldogs, over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The Reps, defending champions of the annual holiday tournament, downed Wyandotte 2-1 in the championship game on Saturday to earn the trophy. Elk Rapids skater Garrison Waugh was credited with an assist in the game.

The Reps reached the finals with an 8-5 win over Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central on Friday.

Quentin Derwin from Kalkaska scored and earned an assist in the contest, with fellow Blazer Christopher Gay gaining an assist. Waugh and fellow Elk Rapids skater Cam Altonen both had assists in the win.
