Annual Harvest Fest offers fun for all

Festival attendees are encouraged to check out the always-popular Best Dressed Pet Parade at 1 p.m. Saturday, sponsored by the Bellaire Animal Hospital.

 

BELLAIRE – As the temperatures drop and leaves begin to change, it's time to think about celebrating the 20th annual Harvest Festival, set for this Saturday, Sept. 29 on the streets of downtown Bellaire.

Scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., this year’s Chamber of Commerce event is sponsored by DTE Energy Foundation, Fischer Insurance, Short’s Brewing Company, New Hope Community Church, the Applesauce Inn, Bellaire Animal Hospital, Charlevoix Tent, DEK Realty, Vacation Properties Network, Revolution Waste Solutions, and Shanty Creek Resorts.

Festival participants will want to start the day with the Fun Run 1 mile walk/run with Inspire Health at 10 a.m.

Treasures await at the “Fine Art, Craft & Flea Market” along with kid’s bounce houses, antique apple tasting, live music and the beverage tent on Broad Street from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Check out the always-popular Best Dressed Pet Parade at 1 p.m., sponsored by the Bellaire Animal Hospital.

Back by popular demand for the second year in a row will be the “Chopped: Disaster Style Cook-off” at 2 p.m., presented by Antrim County Emergency Management, and the Flying Piggies Funky Flea Market, open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., in the parking lot of the Bellaire Public Library.

Those who enjoy adult beverages are encouraged to check out "The Lounge" beverage tent on Broad Street – featuring products from Short’s Brewing Company, Bee Well Meadery, Mammoth Distilling, Torch Lake Cellars, Townline Ciders, Waterfire Vineyards and more.

Each brewer will feature of variety of $5 pours, with funds going to support the Bellaire Chamber of Commerce’s scholarship program and year-round operations.

“The Lounge” will be open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. offering live music from local musicians, along with an open mic opportunity for aspiring talent.
