This year's Acadamea Club Silent Auction, scheduled for Oct. 28, is projected to again feature a wide variety and number of auction items, including gift certificates and handmade items such as quilts and baskets.

KALKASKA – The Acadamea Club is unique to Kalkaska. Founded in 1930 by local women, it has carried on its tradition of philanthropic work in the community for nearly 90 years.

The club’s annual silent auction is its largest fundraiser of the year. Last year it raised more than $2,000 and featured over 200 items.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Kalkaska United Methodist Church. It is projected to again feature a wide variety and number of auction items, including gift certificates and handmade items such as quilts and baskets.

The funds raised from the silent auction will allow the club to continue supporting community efforts and meeting local needs.
